This is the cop who ordered lathi-charge

Senior inspector Madhukar Sankhe suspended for ‘misguiding’ top cop A N Roy about the lathi-charge on doctors

The Maharashtra Government on Monday suspended Senior Police Inspector Madhukar Sankhe, who ordered a lathicharge on medical students protesting against the reservations outside Raj Bhavan on Saturday.

Interestingly, Sankhe’s suspension is not for ordering the lathicharge, which has come under sharp criticism from various quarters, but for “misguiding” his superiors about the incident.

The recognition by the leader of the vanguard of the Left in West Bengal that capitalism is the only game in town shows a realisation that Man may not be perfect or perfectible by human agency

Needed, affirmative action not reservation




The Government should emphasise affirmative action and not reservations in education and private sector employment. Government educational institutions must be upgraded to attract good students and teachers. The private sector must create facilities to train SCs/STs to gain competencies, and jobs by their own merit, says BHANOJI RAO
